AUGUST 2008

The "Student/Teacher Experience" Art Exhibit will have an opening reception on Sunday, September 7th, from 2:00—5:00 PM at the Highland Park Public Library. Each student will display 1—4 works, depending on size. I'll display a few of my own works as well. All students (22 have agreed to exhibit) would like to welcome family and friends to celebrate their hard work. The show is dedicated to the memory of Kiersten Hickman-Perfetti.

The artists range in age from 4 to 70+. I'm very proud of their accomplishments, and it should be a fun afternoon. There will be a table of home-baked goods (students are invited to bring their culinary creations as well as their artwork) and a table of Kosher snacks.

Installation Day: For the exhibiting students, the set-up day for the show is September 3rd, from 3:00—5:00 pm. If you can't be there let me know and I'll make arrangements.

A big welcome goes out to our newest students: Kevin and Ethan Schmerer, Aviel Fradkin, Maya and Ophir Epstein, and Melanie Black.

Arts Commission News: I'm still organizing the Open Studios event which will be held on Sunday, October 26th, from noon until 5 PM. Stay tuned for more details in the September Newsletter. An official Arts Commission website is being created. I'll announce its debut soon.

The Highland Park Artists Collective is busy making T-shirts and fine art greeting cards available soon. Our next group exhibit will be announced soon.
